BARNEY'S WILD RIDE

'95 Chevy C-1500

This wild blue Chevy is a fine example of a Southern California sport truck. Barney Hogan of San Diego, California created the ultimate ride using his '95 Chevy 1500 standard cab. Barney is the VP of Furious Trucks. Barney's first priority was to get his truck down low, and he brought his truck down to the ground using airbags at all four corners.Crazy Customs in San Marcos, California did the suspension work. The front has been lowered by means of 2-inch dropped spindles, custom airbags to replace the coil springs, and relocated shocks. The back was brought closer to the pavement via a 6-inch flip kit, 2-inch shackles, 2-inch blocks, and the removal of 2 leaf springs. To allow such a dramatic change in altitude, the frame required a step-notch to clear the rear axle. To allow on-demand ride height control, the rear of the truck is also fitted with airbags.

The fenders are stuffed with Billet Specialties GT-85 wheels, 17 x 8-inches up front wrapped in 235/40/17 tires, and 17 x 9.5-inches out back, wearing 255/40/17 rubber.

Next on the menu was a list of custom body modifications. The stake pockets on the bedrails and the tailgate handle were shaved. A Sir Michaels front bumper with fog lights and frenched license plate was bolted on to the front of the truck, and a roll pan was molded in to the rear of the truck. The interior of Barney's truck is under construction at the moment, but it will be treated to a lot of billet and two tone blue tweed. Right now the interior features chopped Astro Van seats and a custom center console. The undercarriage is also under construction which will be fully painted.

Barney's truck is already a show vehicle that has taken home its share of trophies in the past year. Barney has done most of the work himself, and we can't wait to see the finished product.
