Nissan Brake Pedal and Gas Gauge Recalls
Late model Titan, Frontier and SUV affected

March 3, 2010

Nissan is recalling a number of late model trucks and SUV for brake pedals and gas gauge problems.

The brake pedal in the some vehicles may become loose and adversely affect braking performance. The vehicles covered in the recall include 2008 through 2010 Nissan Titan and Armada sport utility vehicles, as well as some 2008 and 2009 Quest vans.

Although the issue sounds serious, there have been no injuries or accidents reported. If your brake pedal feels loose, Nissan suggests contacting your local dealer.

Another recall focuses on the gas gauge. The fuel level sensor inside the gas tank may be faulty and show up to a quarter tank of fuel remaining when the tank is actually empty. The vehicles affected by this recall include 2005 to 2009 Titan pickup and Armada SUV, as well as some 2006 and 2008 Frontier pickups, Xterra and Pathfinder SUV.

If you own one of these vehicles, Nissan suggests keeping a half-tank of fuel until your vehicle has been repaired.

The owners of vehicles affected by both recalls will be notified by mail. Dealers will begin servicing the brake pedal on March 22, and the gas gauge recall be will occur in two batches, beginning March 22 with a second group in April.
