Here's a red Chevy that looks ready to take on the Universe. It belongs to Travis Riessle of Tracy, California. He calls his project Crimson Tide, but from the look of the photo, Travis' truck looks ready to launch into space. It is a 1995 GMC Sonoma. He rescued it last year, when he bought it new as a left-over floor model. He says he works on it in his spare time, and has accomplished quite a lot over the past year.

Travis has given his truck a Southern Comfort conversion kit, custom wheels and tires, headlight covers, bug shield, and tinted rear window.
Sorry to say, but the truck only has a 4-cylinder under the hood, and there aren't many bolt on parts to give that engine a wake-up call. But Travis did manage to add a K&N Filtercharger for the intake and a Flowmaster Stage II cat-back dual exhaust to squeeze as much power out as
he could. The 5-speed manual transmission also helps to get the power to the ground. Travis claimed he smoked a Ford Splash 3.0 off the line.

As for the interior, Travis replaced the sound system. He put in an Alpine CD head unit which feeds an Alpine V-12 amp powering the Rockford/Fosgate 6-inch door speakers and the Alpine tweeters in the dash. The thumps come via a Rockford/Fosgate 150-watt amp to a Rockford/Fosgate 8-inch sub behind the seat. Travis says that it is a great combination and it sounds excellent.

Travis has future plans, which include a Belltech 2-inch drop for the suspension, A red fiberglass tonnou cover, and a customized bed and interior to match. Future tricks include automatic bed lighting, shaved tailgate handle and a solenoid-activated latch. And last on the list is to repaint the truck the same color with white skunk stripes bumper to bumper.
